Not sure where you're going with that, but he's being nominated to a position that has nothing to do with high school and college antics, which are perfectly legal. The ice throwing is merely another allegation that is uncorroborated. Even the police report of that evening failed to substantiate the claim.

Those were just presidents and YES I'm saying the most powerful position should be held by the best of us. That includes high school and college partying until you puke. Hate to tell you this but under age drinking has ALWAYS been illegal. 17 is under age. He lied under oath, lost his temper and cried like a whiny little boy in front of the world. That's who you want judging you? Yikes!

Whether he's guilty or not, his behavior in front of Congress was completely unacceptable and inappropriate. Where's the intelligence, the level-headedness, the honesty one would expect from someone about to be a judge in the highest court in our country?

All these Trumpers that come down on people for protesting and complaining, yet Kavanaugh cries like a baby on national television and they've got nothing to say. The man is a five year old. I can see why Trump likes him so much, though.

Nowhere...nowhere did I even mention sexual assault or even allude to it. I'm sticking to the context of this meme and my own statements, which are addressing high school and college antics. The "assault" you allude to happened in the summer of Kavanaugh's senior year--making him 18 and legal. He's said that he drank and drank a lot sometimes. So you're saying that alone is enough to exclude him from the SC? Wow. Also, the term "just presidents" is just ridiculous. You mean it's ok to be a drug addict and abuser of alcohol in your glory days, so long as you're just going to be the leader of the most powerful nation in the world. You're saying that's ok. Ok to elect someone like that and give them a nuclear button, but a SC justice who just resides over legal conflicts should be spotless from the moment their born. That's ridiculous. Just what is your cut-off date for disobedience, because we are all rebellious from the moment we're born? You're still in that mode where you are believing anything negative about the man even though nothing but his drinking has been substantiated. That speaks volumes about you as well.

As far as who I want judging me. I want someone with a history of judgments that are bound to an objective set of standards, not someone who ignores their mandate to interpret the constitution in lieu of what they think "ought" to be right. I want a law interpreter, not a law maker on our courts, which is what this man has a proven history of doing. His demeanor in the position won't be affected by his High School "antics" but by his history while on the bench and working for public entities, something no one seems to care about...on your side of the issue.

Getting drunk and attempting to r*pe someone while drunk are two different things. Ford didn't accuse him of just being drunk. If that's all there was to the allegations no one would care. But one leading to the other, that's where being a blackout drunk becomes an issue... and you know this.

So far there is nothing but her testimony that says anything about rape. On the other hand, all the other witnesses, even her own, tend to work against her. I won't accept her testimony by itself, and I don't want to live in a country that would. Her ex-boyfriends letter has now been released which claims she lied about the lie detector test she took, and that speaks volumes. Should I just not believe his testimony because she's a woman, or should I add him to the growing list of people that are corroborating Kavanaugh's story? If there is no evidence, then I don't think it's fair to even bring up the assault (she never said she was raped), which is why everyone is now deflecting to his drinking habits (the subject of my meme). I was merely making the point that one's partying while a teen doesn't seem to bother anyone unless they can't make a rape charge stick.

There are also people who are saying he was a heavy drinker which, if true, means he lied to Congress. So there's that. Whether you believe her or not, he's still unfit. He's shown that.

That would be a point of disagreement I could live with. Although, I believe his downplayed his drinking (lied) to avoid the implication of assault, since they were trying to tie the two together. To admit to the charge of excessive drinking would have given Ford's, to debunked, testimony more weight. He drank a lot. He even stated as much. He just didn't admit to blacking out. Most people don't black out when they drink heavy anyway. Pass out...yeah, but blacking out is a different thing all together. And that's what they were trying to get him to admit to, because it opened the door for his actions being done without remembering them. There's no way I would admit to that if I knew they were going to use it against me to prove or suggest assault. That's just how I look at the whole "drinking" issue. I'll readily admit that this is also just speculation, but I watched the whole hearing and that was my impression of it.
