You're unlikely to kill hundreds if you forget to flick your indicator on a car. Forget the right switch at the right time as a pilot, there are no accident and emergency services there to take you to the hospital after an accident. Kind of focuses the mind a bit more. That said, drivers who don't use indicators are by far the bigger jerks.
