Yup, that was my point with the title. They are, in effect, taking away people's freedom to make their own decisions by claiming they're nothing more than Russian bots, an attempt to invalidate them.

They've been doing that for a long time though. Black republicans are "Uncle Toms" and "race traitors", female anti-feminists or tradcons are "indoctrinated tools of "the patriarchy" who are filled with internalized misogyny" and "gender traitors", etc. etc.

Well I guess, taken literally, I did say that (mild exaggeration for illustration), but no I don't actually believe that conservatives are innocent of that. However, both historically and currently, democrats have always been far more guilty, and to far greater degrees.

The problem with your thinking is that during the last election a group in Moldova was making fake news sites aimed at both sides to get as much clickbait ad revenue as they could. Only they found the liberals fact checked the fake stories aimed at them and the money wasn’t there. Conservatives on the other hand ate it up and reposted the stories far and wide, never bothering to fact check because they wanted to believe the fake stories. That’s how propaganda works. So congrats on being played by the Russians.
