I agree, automotive tech advances have only one thing in mind, and it’s not your well being. I’ve talked to people who no longer shoulder check because “if the lane departure light isn’t on, I don’t have to double check” sheesh

Got backed into the other day. Person coming out of a parking spot was looking forward, using their backup camera. I was coming down the lane with a cart, they could not see me. Luck I stopped just as their bumped went by the front of the cart. Give me backup sensors, but back-up cameras should display behind the driver so they have to turn around.

Bummer, good thing you were there to witness, or they may have floored it outta there.

Amen. And all the same rules should apply to drivers in self driving vehicles — no alcohol or wireless device use. No sleeping either.

Still amazed by the number of cars that don't have auto-on headlights. Actually if this is too complext/unreliable with low wattage LEDs headlights might as well be on at all times.
