I sold my drums years ago and still miss them. I see where they’re easy to replace, but I hesitate. Neil was the the one I listened to the most.
When I sold mine, if I knew they were instruments, I would have charged more, lol :-)
Most pop music nowadays consists of loops and samples. I use an RC-300 looper as part of my live show and it's all played and recorded on the spot. That's fine because it really gets the creative juices flowing.
Samples are little recorded parts of pre-recorded work, usually someone else's work. These are okay if properly licensed, but it's not very creative in my opinion.
My drummer forgot his stick bag for some reason and we were playing a pretty important show. He ended up playing the whole show with a broken pool stick and a bro pick. True story.
