Being in an oppressed class doesn't mean you can't be successful. It also doesn't mean that you can't be ignorant of the systemic oppression of other people within said class.

systemic oppression? I will not deny that racism still exists, but the only oppression that is built into an official government system today is "affirmative action" (which is biased against Asians, not blacks, but that doesn't make it any less racist).
