Good tune

Yep, I used to play it on guitar... years ago.

It's a great story set to great music.

And I also liked the story in 'Major Tom' from the 80's. It was a good sequel. :-)

Btw, William Shatner re-recorded the sequel too. You'll find it - and Ritchie Blackmore's version of the original on Shatner's album Major Tom.

BONUS: Shatner does Bohemian Rhapsody. Check out the video on YouTube if interested. :-)

One of the best lines from the song. It almost puts you right there, in the capsule with him.

Good delivery, too. The whole f#cking thing is a masterpiece!

Yep, i'm 13 and I love the 1969 tune debut by Bowie, as well as the likes of Tom Petty, Buddy Holly, The Beatles, Don McLean, Simon and Garfunkel and other 50s/60s/70s/80s acts

Well, his name is Bill Anders, and I first met his wife when she was going down to her cousin's funeral in San Deigo , We sat next to eachother in first class, he wasn't there. I started talking to her and expressed my interest in WWII, which I have been obsesed with for years. And she started to tell me about her husband's vintage airplane collection and the museum he has for them (at this point I didn't know who she was) At the end of the flight she gave me her card and the info for the museum. I ended up googling the name and found out who she was! I then went to the museum, which is about 2 hours drive from my home in Northern Washington. I went there, met him, saw his space memorabilia (He has chocalate milkshakes the they took with them into space) and saw his airplane collection, which spans from WWII to the Vietnam war.

Wow - that's pretty nice. Thank you for sharing!

I'll bet the airplanes got more expensive after Vietnam.

Lots of extra bells and whistles. :-)

Awesome. I bought that single when it came out.

Wasn't there... a car commercial featuring that song also?

There was a girl, almost dancing in the car, waving her arms around... funky and cool.

There's something wrong... communications link is down with no way to report my status. But here I am, floating in space in a tiny pocket of air.

How will I let the papers know what shirt I wear?
