You are assuming a double standard where none exists. Give me one example of someone who thinks Boy scouts should be op-ed who has said girl scouts should not be.
What part of "Separate is inherently unequal" is hard to comprehend?

I actually have zero problem with it. I just take issue with the fact that if something is men only, it's sexist, but if it's women only[like several bars and clubs] it's perfectly fine. I believe inequality across the board and get a tad annoyed when people[especially on the left] pick and choose when to practice this believe and when not to.

The left are nothing if not inconsistent. I agree with you there.

Their inconsistencies drive me nuts. They'll preach about how guns are dangerous but the text while driving their mini-van full of screaming kids down a busy road and give you Hell if you call them out on it.

And I have a similarly bad habit. Admittedly some trolls I respect more than others like laonsite. Say what you will about him but he actually has talented and can be funny at times, I even upvote him on occasion. This one isn't even worth a golf clap.

I think he uses it because it's naturally irritating. It (the template) exudes a smugness backed by a complete ignorance of what they are talking about. He uses the template because it's a face you just want to punch. He is a true troll. He doesn't care what position he takes, as long as it will provoke the person he's talking to. He's actually rather good at it.

I knew what you meant from context. Autocorrect regularly screws me over too.

It's co-ed not op-ed. My effing autocorrect won't stop "fixing" things for me.

If there is no double standard, can I, being male, join the Girl Scouts. If no, then it is sexism and a double standard. If yes, then why aren't the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts the same thing?
0 ups, 7y,
1 reply
I don't know what the girl scouts current policy is, what I said is that the people are who want to integrate the boy scouts are not against integrating the girl scouts.
The Girl scouts and boy scouts, currently, are different programs with different experiences. If they wanted to combine into a single program, I don't think that would be problematic.
What is problematic is wanting to deny girls the same experiences available to boys. That is sexist.
Since "Separate is inherently unequal" accepted as truth, you actually have a bigger hurdle than me to overcome in this argument. I don't really need to justify why girls need to be in boy scouts. You need to justify why the boy scouts needs to discriminate against girls.

The Boy Scouts teach BOYS life lessons and help them become men, by teaching them manners and basic survival skills. Also, with the boys and girls separated into different organizations, the girls will face less discrimination than they will receive from boys during har activities that girls don't usually do. I say the Boy Scouts shouldn't let girls in, and the Girl Scouts shouldn't let boys in, to stay true to their original intent.

So what you just said is
-Girls shouldn't learn manners and basic survival skills.
- You plan to prevent discriminating against girls by...dicriminating against girls.

Those are just non sequitors.

I am honestly less troubled by your blatant sexism than I am by the fact that you seem to think is not blatant sexism.

I never said that girls shouldn't learn survival skills. Don't put words into my mouth, that's illegal. I'm saying that Boy Scouts is much harder than anyone could imagine, and that's why we have Girl Scouts; it's an easier version of Boy Scouts. Science has proven that the human male is capable of the harder activities. The probability that a girl would need to use survival skills is just as high as a boy, but the Boy Scouts are harder. I can't tell you if the Girl Scouts teach survival skills, but I can say that if they don't, they should. As a guy who has 6 sisters, believe me when I say, the Boy Scouts and the Girl Scouts do need to be separate, so the boys can be away from the girls and the girls can be away from the boys. It's only fair that the two organizations don't let the other gender in, because that is literally their namesake; Boy and Girl.
0 ups, 7y
That's all she does, dude. Don't waste your time. Putting words in your mouth comes just about every post, and any conclusion that doesn't 100% agree with what she's saying makes you a misogynist pig. So far gone down that route in every thread about the scouts issue.

So if I understand you
-Girls aren't capable of doing what boys can (that is the very definition of sexism)
-"Boy scouts is harder than anyone can imagine" that would include the imagination of boys as well as girls. I'm aware many boys drop out of the program when the realize it's too hard for them. Girls can drop out if it's too hard for them too. But at least a few won't.
-You say boys and girls need to be separate as if it's a given fact. According to who? Why do boys and girls need to be separate? Boys and girls go to school together, go to church together, and do a lot of activities together. What is the REASON (in your mind) they supossedly need to be separate.
0 ups, 7y,
1 reply
You don't understand me. Girls are capable of doing what boys do, it's just that they already have their own organization for doing it; the Girl Scouts. Why should a girl want to join the Boy Scouts when they could join the Girl Scouts to be with other girls their own age. From very early on, until Junior High or even High School, many boys can't stand girls and many girls can't stand boys, henceforth, why they need their separate time. Everyone needs private time, and boys are bound to do something in the Boy Scouts that girls think is offensive, and I'm 100% sure that girls do things in Girl Scouts that I and many other boys would think offensive. Boys have a different sense of humour than girls, and they often like things that are worlds apart. Why put a strong, capable female in a troop of a dozen or more males, where she will be ridiculed (Which she shouldn't be) and most likely won't be able to partake in their conversations, because she knows so little about what they are talking about. Likewise, why put a male in a (Do they call them troops?) troop of Girl Scouts? The same thing will happen in both organizations. Back when both groups started, they could see that the other gender wouldn't be appreciated in the other gender's group. That's why the Girl Scouts and the Boy Scouts are separate, and should always be separate.
By the way, if you're still reading this, I thank you for taking time out of your Sunday afternoon, when you could be off doing other things, instead of arguing with me. I probably won't be able to answer any more questions for a few hours, I've got stuff to do for Mythology class, so if I don't answer, it doesn't mean I've given up.
0 ups, 7y
This is out of order but
-"back when both groups started"
Boy scouts started in 1910, girl scouts started in 1912, women did not gain the right to vote until 1920. So you can hardly use gender ideas from when they were founded to justify the current discrimination that you want.
- you said "that's why we have Girl Scouts; it's an easier version of Boy Scouts", how is that not girls can not do what boys can do?
-" Why put a strong, capable female in a troop of a dozen or more males, where she will be ridiculed"
Why will she be ridiculed? If it's JUST because she is female, you are arguing for being sexist because...the boys are going to be sexist?
0 ups, 7y
I didn't mean to put words in your mouth, the way you phrased your answer made it sound like that's what you meant.

Of course the Girl Scouts are just hopping to be integrated as the movement for integrating the Boy Scouts HAS NOT been calling for. Also while they're at it, might as well combine the two separate entitities (AKA dissolve the GS) because those who run the companies couldn't care less about their own assests, jobs, incomes, and this precipitated the eventual demise of the Girl Scouts anyway.

Even though there has been no such moves towards any of this it must be true because you said so!

Get a new template, troll. You never even say something semi inteligent. That gobbledygook you spouted doesn't relate to anything I, or any of the other commenters said. You are just annoying and contribute nothing to any debate. If you even have a comprehensive thought, you have yet to effectively express one.
1 up, 7y
Kindly show any FACTS pertaining any movement to integrate the Girl Scouts, women only gyms, bars, sororities, schools (excluding those doing so now due to falling enrollment as women flock to previously male only institutions), and whatever other associations, institutions, and corporations reserved for females - and I don't mean by your, "I say so, so therefore it is" claptrap.

As for your deflection, nice try, and nice adimission that there's only so much bullshit you can pull out of your flapping ass.
