I was reading on the story behind that photo. Apparently he was a huge class clown. He bought that sweater vest, put on that blue button up under it, roughed up his face and hair a little and intentionally took on the slack jawed expression. His friend posted it on Reddit as made the first Bad luck Brian caption and boom. Bad luck Brian was born!

Apparently the original print isn't even available because the principal at school made him go to do a re-take on the photo and they made him turn in the picture. I bet had he known it was going to be famous he would have bought the copy!

His friend scanned it and posted it on Reddit before he took it back to school. I should go find that article.

At school he roughed up his hair and rubbed his face and eyes so he would look a little worse, then purposely took on a slack jawed expression. His friend posted the photo on Reddit with some caption calling him Bad Luck Brian as a joke. By the next day it had gone viral.
