I would rather abolish the government than private companies.

I don't want anyone spying on me. Be it government or private companies. Of course I am certain that these cell phone companies and internet providers are all in bed together.

In bed with the government who has admitted to spying on citizens "for our safety". I would rather have a free market where I could choose a company that at least has the appearance of not being a data mine.

My point is they are working at spying on up for the government. And the fact that you are okay with being data mined as long as the company makes it look like they aren't doing that is alarming. I'm not arguing against your main point here, because I do agree about your sentiment on the government. I'm just saying all of these nosy, data mining, spying and lying people are all working as a single unit against us. They are all on the same side and I don't think that is okay.

I see what you're saying, but even in this day and age with the wealth of information at hand, how are you ever going to be 100% certain that a company isn't selling your data? With that being said, if/when people find out their data is being mined, they're free to choose another service, aka money talks, money walks. But, no one I know(me included) has quit facebook since they have been accused of data mining, so that just means the government gets to make a big charade of protecting us from them, even though they spy, cheat, murder, steal, etc all in the name of the law and safety. How can I unsubscribe from that service? Lol.

You can never be certain. I don't trust any one, especially people who stand to make a buck off me. As far as Face Book, I don't use the thing. And people will continue using it. As long as there is convenience, and the need to be validated by a "like" button people will keep doing it. It's a web we can't escape because as you say we can't unsubscribe from the government. I think we can do our best to minimize how much of our info we put out there though. I volunteer as little as possible.
