I know it’s a repost but it got a lot of attention on chicken week.

I've always felt these week topics stifle peoples creativity. Plus flood the pages with memes all about one subject that limit our viewers choices immensely. That's my opinion though, I just can't help but wonder since the week topics are supposed to help people think up a meme why the majority of them are reposts...

I agree! I've even pointed that out several months ago to some users. It also has caused some intense arguments here to the point of a certain user trolling other users and spamming their memes with angry comments because they weren't participating in his meme week.

I think a week is entirely too long to stay focused on one thing. How many new chicken joke ideas can the universe spit out at once ya know lol. I've been a non conformist all my life so it just rubs against my grain personally. I may submit one or two during a week if an idea comes to me. Who said every post you make has to be about the week anyway?

It's the facebook mentality, I'll like yours and you like mine and if we get enough people to agree to that it will appear as though we are really liked and can have a big like orgy all over the internet. The users in this place used to come together and create massive comment chains and ideas would fly off the page constantly. Now they come together to all post the same idea for a week and creativity is hiding under the bed. Sure you could be one of the people who makes an awesome meme for a week. Good luck getting anybody to care after they've seen 100 memes about the same topic.

I almost left for good a while ago but decided that was leaving with a whimper you know. I kept my mouth shut while good talented people disappeared all around me not wanting to upset people. A lot of whom I consider friends even if I disagree with them creatively. We spent so much time trying to be nice to each other that when stuff should have been said nobody wanted to be the bad guy. I don't know if it's honestly too late now or not to get back what we had. I just know I am done keeping my opinion to myself.

For a long time I ignored things I didn't like around here. The problem with that being it made me want to ignore most of the site....

I agree with you on pretty much everything except the reposts. Now, don't get me wrong, I'm not a fan of blatant reposts that are reposted from a meme that is still in the top hot pages. I have seen that done before and that's just stupid. As for reposting memes that are found online on other sites, I'm not against that. But like you said, as long as the poster doesn't deny it's a repost.

I upvote pretty much all of your memes, along with SpudlyJunk's. You two have some good original content and SpudlyJunk tells some cool stories with his memes. I just haven't been able to log on a lot for the past few weeks. My mom is on her death bed and she doesn't have a lot of time left, so I've been dealing with that.

Dude I'm sorry to hear that. We don't have to agree we have mutual respect for each other and it's been that way for a long time. I've been on here more in the past 24 hours than the past week it feels like.

I do photoshop contests and submit on a couple other sites. I'm lucky to get 3 in here and respond to notifications most of the time. I almost was gone for good until I logged in to copy some pics and got in a comment chain with Damon Knife. Made me remember how much fun it can be, but my eyes have been opened to what a small pond this site is and there is no closing them again.

The main problem is I have outgrown this site. If it wasn't for people like you that are still around and share the same memories I do of this place I'd only come here for my pics I've saved. There is no challenge, I know if I put all my time into here commenting all over the place I'd hit the leaderboard no problem. Regardless of how good I make a meme there is a system you have to follow here to be popular now. I know it, I've done it repeatedly, I'm tired of the same ol thing.

I'll always have love in my heart for this place, but I want to break a million views and that's not possible here. I've broken half a mil so far and that was intense. The photoshop contests on fark.com are amazing as well. It's worth checking out I definitely jumped into a bigger pond on that one. There is just so much more out there, I can't help but be drawn towards it.
