I don't even have 100,000 points yet! I may have a lot of comments, but there are many who have similar numbers but I've never even seen.

Well if you do the meme week (but only if you want to of course) you'd gain a lot of points very quick. When I did Music Week with Phantasmemegoric 3 or so weeks ago I gained like 50,000 points just from the week, but it's your choice.

Points don't matter. Like the OP indicated, visibilty does, as do theme weeks.
Positive interactions, getting to know various memers by posting on theirs, etc, - get folks to know you, seek your memes as you seek theirs.

Some try to shortcut their way by syncophanting top memers, which is rather pathetic.
Those often overdo it and burnout after a few months, gone.

Timing is often a factor when submitting. Ask Raydog about that. Something like the wee early hours so that they feature round when everyone is at work in the US.
Popular templates clear sooner, so bear that in mind when submitting originals.

I've twice seen one memer mention that is a dead meme, but who's he to say? Ironic, because he's one of those so-called open minded fluid live and let live types. Which, of course, makes him a self appointed dictator.
