It didn't seem to matter when their guy was spending my money on things I didn't want

I know they are politicians and that hypocrisy is business as usual, but come on!

You're not going to want what the GOP is selling, and now thanks to your vote, you won't have any thing to fall back on either. Have fun with that!
Republicans stopped worrying about the debt almost 20 years ago. They'll rack up HUGE deficits for the sake of making the rich even richer.

Credit for trying - but Bill's "fix" was to borrow against the Social Security trust fund. Basically just another way of stealing out of people's pockets. Bush I give you mostly, since although the Laffer curve is real, he went into optional BS wars that had nothing to do with 9/11.

he raised taxes on Social Security benefits for high-income earners. Everyone I knew, their SS checks did not get touched because they were low-income. Bush was like a living Muppet. But the point is moot. Your meme suggested that Democrats did not care about the economy. Bill Clinton proves that to be false. I don't believe the party that a candidate represents always reflects their beliefs but most of the time they are the definition of their party's beliefs like Donald Trump.
I'm glad to host an argument, as I get points for your comments. Just a thought though: the nineties are way over, though there are people at my job who seem to want to bring them back (upper mgmt.). As for Bush Jr, those who hate him won't admit he did anything well, and those who love him don't believe he did anything wrong. My original meme referenced the past 7-8 years or so. So why not stay in that range? Otherwise, I could tell you a few things about Lincoln...
Wan't my meme, mine was the one about the $16 trillion coin, which was about demo-ditzes like Paul Krugman, who appear not to grasp the foundational nature of inflation.
And Bill didn't just raise taxes on the rich, he DID borrow against the trust fund, which for all real purposes is probably now at zero assets and full IOU notes, and if Congressional Democrats like Shumer and Pelosi could find a way to borrow against IOU's they almost certainly would, ad infinitum, because the alternative is to tell a bunch of public unions and special interests the borrow-and-spend party is over, and you have to cut the pizza account and start paying things down, which of course they would never do. SSTF borrowing is not moot, that does establish that it was heavily smoke and mirrors.
Obama ironically I'd admit had occasions during the bailout of real concern in his speeches, but he never stood up to anybody and said no.
