Most of the married couples I know have faithfully loved one another and grown to appreciate each other more and more since when they first got married. Granted, the community I'm surrounded by is not representative of the majority of our culture, but it does prove that maintaining love after marriage is at least possible.

i know i'm just saying that sadly some don't last a long time like generations ago. it still great to see some still can love each other after so many years proves that love can be faithful in dark times. some grown stronger in there marriage then some who don't.i guess

Yeah, that is a sad trend. I think it really comes down to having realistic expectations combined with optimistic determination. Understanding that neither person is perfect, and there will be problems, but being willing to work through those problems when they arise is the key.

My wife and I have been together for 24 years, and going on 17 married. We had some uneasy times, but our marriage is the best it's been now, and both of us are truly making an effort to love and serve the other more as time goes on. It's sad indeed that so many marriages fail. It's all about commitment and putting your spouse first
