I really thought Trump would be for it when he saw the crazy amount of money the states are making. Weed has been proven to actually have some positive effects on people. Where nothing about alcohol or cigarettes has anything positive about them at all. However as long as people in Washington are excepting money from those two companies, there will always be a strong opposition against legalizing it. The tobacco and alcohol lobbyists will fight tooth and nail to keep their companies from taking the loss legalizing marijuana would cause them. It's as simple as that, look at who pays for the anti marijuana campaigns if you need some proof...

Reports say that legal sales brought in revenue upwards of $10 billion in 2017 alone. So the states will continue to fight Jeff Sessions and if Trump's supporters will hold him to his promise to "leave it up to the states" on that issue, he will tell Sessions to change his position or add him to list of people he has replaced.

I don't really care about the whole recreational aspect being legal. I do have a friend I worked with for many years who has extreme rheumatoid arthritis and that CBD stuff helps him a lot. It's barely legal in my state even though they have taken out anything that could remotely get you high in it.

It just amazes me how many plants out there classified as herbs are known without a doubt to be helpful to people. Yet this one is evil to people because of a propaganda campaign promoted by Nixon of all people. Some peoples minds will not be changed however, and they have a right to their opinion. Just because somebody is wrong doesn't mean they have the ability to realize it. I'm too open minded to ever say I will never change my mind, I'm not afraid of learning new things, even if it means I might have to admit I was wrong about something along the way ;)

I'm in GA and my state has legalized CBD oil for certain ailments. That's after jumping through all the hoops of getting a "medical marijuana" card.
I have a seizure disorder and CBD oil has been shown to do wonders in people with seizures. But I'm not epileptic so I don't qualify for a card. I hope the laws get better and start to cover more people with different ailments.
I don't care if marijuana gets legalized here but it should definitely be decriminalized. People should not catch felony charges over a small amount of weed. Had I been caught carrying some of the weight I used to carry I might still be in prison, either that or due to having a drug charge on my record wouldn't have been able to get the hope scholarship that helped me pay for school.

I'm in MO and you can buy CBD over the counter without anything. It's decriminalized here, I thought we had a chance of passing legalization last year but nope. I know I'd rather smoke a joint than take a bunch of opiates for the pain I'm in. I can have all the oxy I want but a plant that doesn't cause extreme physical addiction no way lol. Not to mention that it does help people get off of strong meds like that after a surgery or whatever but I'm no doctor. I just know what works for me and I never felt like a junkie when I smoked weed every day in my 20's but I sure did after my neck surgery on all those pills.

Not that I think the way our country is handling the opiate epidemic is right either. Those pills do exist for a reason, cutting people off of their pain medication isn't going to stop people not in pain from wanting to get high. Now we have a bunch of people in pain and the abusers have just switched to heroin lmao. That and the methadone clinics are raking in the dough from people paying for pain management there. Now that doctors are afraid to prescribe it even to people who they know need it. Guess all those years of school don't add up to much against our government and insurance companies.

But I digress, the war on drugs has cost this country billions and many their freedom for non violent offenses. I've never been sure why our government feels the need to police certain things we put in our bodies. Then turn around and share in the profits of other things that are just as bad for us. I'm not even talking drugs I'm talking things like corn syrup lol. The whole time Nancy Reagan was telling people to just say no, our government was paying to fly in planes full of coke around the DEA they were paying to stop coke from being flown in. For some reason taking their advice on drugs is a bit hard for me to swallow...

I hope it gets like that down here eventually where we can buy CBD oil over the counter.
Be careful of the opiates for pain. A person can get turned into an addict and/or junkie quickly with that stuff.
You should try lidocaine patches for pain. The icy hot with lidocaine patches are available over the counter. I had shoulder surgery back in June 2017. I had a plate put in with like 6 screws. They had me on dilaudid and percocet in the hospital and sent me home with a prescription of 7.5 percocets 4 times a day. When I picked up my prescription I bought some lidocaine patches and only had to take the percocets before bed. I hate taking opiates because I have to take stool softeners to be able to use the restroom.

I hear ya I am well aware of the dangers of opiates, I won't take them unless it's a really bad day. Lidocaine patches don't go deep enough for my neck. I had a spinal fusion at 36 which should tell you how extreme things were, they don't normally do that kind of surgery at that age. I chose to only have one disc done instead of 3 at the time. I know I will have to go through it sometime, just holding out for as long as I can. I take gabepentin for the nerve damage pain it helps a lot and doesn't even bother your liver. My biggest problem is not being able to sleep more than a few hours at a time. I move and I wake up, every single time without fail. It is what it is though I had nearly lost the use of my right arm so I'll take the good with the bad. I like that biofreeze stuff also, my problem just isn't muscular in nature so none of that stuff does what I need it to.

I'm sorry to hear that.
A brother from my church has the same issue with discs in his neck. I hope you will find relief in a treatment that does not result in worse side effects than the actual pain you are having.

I have no idea I have never seen the show honestly. I do however like most of the people on here that are fans of the show. I gotta give Octavia a reason to grin and shake his head every now and then ;)

Screw Jeff Sessions. Too late. Toothpaste is outta the tube already.

Funny that the Nixonian war on poor folks, leftists and minorities getz more play with a Fascist like Sessions - than the usual line about STATE's rights...

So much for FEDERALISM...
