I'd hate to be that guy, but SINTERKLAAS isn't the same thing as Santa Claus. I do understand the confusion. Sinterklaas is a seperate holiday on 5 december celebrated in the Netherlands and in Belgium. The reason the holidays are similar is that Christmas is based off of Sinterklaas.
Don't hate being that guy, hey the more you know. It's all in the delivery and, as long as you're not being a jerk about it, there should be no problem. You are being as diplomatic as possible.
