How is GotHigh doing? Still on hiatus?

I don't know. I gave him my number. He thanked me for it. He never called or texted me. I PM him when everyone was deleting accounts. We chatted about things that were happening. Some of the things were not clear on what the problems were. And I never pushed him into specifics. I might PM him today, I don't know if he even checks in on here. If he needs time, I'm fine with it. I am concerned for him. It sucks because we have fun together on here. I lost 2 I chat with the most, and 1 is MIA. I hope it's just the Holidays taking up there time and nothing serious.

People seem to come and go then come back all the time here. Hope he returns soon.

lol yeah I'm trying to reach out to noobies and make new friends. Going to submit a meme soon inviting noobs to comment and introduce themselves and ask question etc. Lots of good memes the last few days it seems

I chatted with Chad today. He and Jessica seem to be well though I didn't really mention them leaving/coming back here etc. Got him interested in moving up to my town lol. They are trying to find a place with lower cost of living.

Thanks for letting me know, I do appreciate that. I thought where they live, the cost of living isn't too bad. I guess near the coast could be expensive though. I don't know exactly where they live, just assume. I'm glad they are doing ok. That is happy to hear.

They live in Charleston SC. My bother lives there too and the cost of living is way high. I live in Greenville on the far side of the state, but the cost of living here is much lower, yet we have one of the fastest growing jobs markets in the nation, and it will be for decades to come. And it's really the nicest part of the state. I chatted with Chad again today and sent him some links to DOD job listings here in Greenville and he seemed excited about the idea. I also remembered I have a friend in real estate here and I'm seeing if he could help them find a deal on housing up here. They are looking to buy and settle, and this would be a great place if it would work out. We'll see I guess. They need to get out of Charleston. Been trying to convince my brother of that forever lol

I mentioned to Jessica a while back about GEcareers.com, I don't know if she told him about it. General Electric has preferential hiring for military veterans. Plus, it is nationwide and worldwide. There is many different career choices. GE has been great for me, I have been there for 3 years now.

Yeah there is a huge GE gas turbines plant in Greenville too. I'll have to mention that. I imagine he wants to stay in a government job if possible so retirement and benefits transfer though. I hope they can find something that will allow them to be comfortable and happy

GE does government work, I don't know how it works for as a government job. I want us all to do well in life. I don't know if the National Gaurd is a way to stay in. I have no idea how stuff works for the military. I know GE is very supportive of anything with the military.

Yeah Nat Guard counts. I now several people who have started out Army or other branch, then stayed in by transferring to the Guard. But as I understand it he's retired from the service with an early medical discharge. Now he just works as a civilian for the DOD I think. But with government jobs retirement and benefits usually transfer. My wife has worked as a public school teacher and you have to have at least 28 years to retirement. if she left teaching she could get some other government job and her years still count toward it.
