I should know, sicne I know a lot from both rock and metal.Tony Iommi is indeed the coolest sounding one. Those that come close are Tom Araya,George Fisher,Kai Hansen,Michael Kiske and Dave Mustaine
The better Sabbath vocalist (nothing against Ozzy). "Heaven and Hell" is the best album.

Ozzy can't even dream about being as good vocalist as Dio.But Ozzy is the one who gave Black Sabbath their classic, doomy sound, along with Tony's guitar style and Bill's drumming."Heaven and Hell" is surely in their Top 3 albums, but my favourite will always be the one that started it all:"Black Sabbath"
Yeah. Ozzy Sabbath 1.0 dropped off in quality with the 7th and 8th albums and even a little before that, but having the first 4 or 5 is pretty essential. Overall there's no real drop-off with "Heaven and Hell" and "Mob Rules", it's just the career paths started getting scattershot after that. I do regret not having seeing the Ozzy Sabbath reunion (last tour?) when it was up here in the Pacific Northwest when it came through but things got in the way. I HAVE just acquired a Judas Priest/Saxon/Black Star Riders (Thin Lizzy minus Phil Lynott, of course) ticket for March. My friend's wife decided she's not up to going. :)

Agreed on Ozzy Sabbath. I stopped buying their stuff when he left. They just weren't the same :-(
I did buy "13" it felt like and old friend had come to visit again after a long time.

My favorite release by Sabbath is popular with many fans, if they've heard of it at all. Technical Ecstasy was released in the late 70's and was recorded as just an album to complete their contract obligations. I had it on vinyl and don't know if it can be found otherwise. My second favorite release is Paranoid.

Yep, I can remember when that came out like t was yesterday! Got it on CD re-released by Essential records I think. I got them all on CD as they becam available, but stopped at Never Say Die. Their first album was for me one of those musical milestones along with Yes's Fragile and ELP's first too.
As a PowerMetalhead,my favourite metal is Steel.Steel is sung in SO many Power Metal songs! One of them is "Valhalla" by Blind Guardian, one of the greatest Power Metal songs and Blind Guardian songs!

"High in the sky
Where eagles fly
Mogray the Dark
Enters the throne"
Man,I love Blind Guardian!
If you have a chance try to listen to Symphorce. Preferably Become Death. The sound is progressive metal, but this ain't no bubble gum music. I love that German metal.
