I'd leave but then I'd get called a racist colonist pioneer and wherever I moved to would start getting harassed by antifa and say it wasn't inclusive enough and was gentrifying out everyone who lived there before or some BS.

Seriously. Who're we trying to make the planet better for, millennials? Don't make me choke on my dinner.

We can't do that when Jeff the Killer is looking down upon them from the evening sky, can we?

As a single parent, I think I created a Recycling Nazi. My kid actually yells at me for not sorting the different TYPES of paper, mixing plastic bottles and plastic wrap together, and not washing ALL food containers with HOT water and detergent before throwing them away!
Once, I had placed some foil-backed cardboard in with the newspapers; he acted like I'd intentionally stepped on his iphone! LOL

Seriously though, so many paradoxes where recycling is concerned...

Seriously though, yes he does! LOL
But since he knows EVERYthing and I don't, it's impossible to have him see the error of his ways. (sigh!)

but what if you live in a state with a draught....do you still wash out recyclables? I am asking seriously....

That's an interesting question.! I suppose I'd save the less disgusting water used elsewhere, like the washing machine, washine hands & face, etc. I mean, who cares? You're not using the container to re-store food, right?
The more likely scenario is that I'd just say "f*ck it!" and get rid of the container as is. LOL

thats what I do..they sterilize it the they recycle anyway....its probably so they dumpsters and holding places don't sell...but who cares, its not near me

I didn’t know what it was and my parents told me it was to burn trash—no longer used—and your comment made me realize how different our kids think about all this!

Neat-o! I knew they existed, but I didn't know what they actually looked like. And I'm willing to bet they were heavier than a (censored)!

Hate it when my opinion is ignored, especially by adults who think they know better than me on something that I know better about. :D

Love how kids think everything was like 200 years ago. Like, the younger you get, everything's multiplied by 2 or 3 in their head.

I'd love to have a conversation with you and ask when we converted from horses to cars, or when we first landed on the moon. I imagine I'd get some hilarious answers. MF'ing education is such a joke now. Apparently anything greater than about 17 years ago happened between 30 years and 250 years. LOL.

Sorry. I guess I should have explained. I went to Catholic grade and high schools in the '60's to mid '70's and saw plenty of discipline handed out. Most of the time the kids deserved it (I got slapped in the head because I was laughing at some other kid getting the same). Sometimes though, the line was definitely crossed. I saw a kid lifted by the scruff of his neck and lifted a couple feet and pinned on the wall! I'm probably what you'd call a lapsed Christian but I don't regret my education. Schools seemed to have changed from authoritarian to the exact opposite.

very true, it went and took a gigantic polar shift to where teachers are getting fking fired for even using the wrong gender pronouns now......... or saying santa clause doesn't exist.
