I remember recording songs off the radio on 8 track. Oh those were the days, waiting hours for one song lol.

Now if you want a song you have it in seconds on your phone, as kids we really had to work for a free song, and either you'd miss the first few seconds of the song or the DJ would be talking over the beginning or end lol

I don't even own a cassette player anymore...LOL Still have a few CD's but the only thing I ever used them for now is "ripping" songs off of them.

For Meme Wars week I strung all the popular meme templates together...in order as of yesterday...and I'm about 3/4 of the way through captioning them all...about 4 hours worth of work so far...be a shame if they don't feature it or hold it forever.

Last time I used an 8-track was when I had my '67 Chevelle. I gave the girl I sold it to all my tapes as part of the deal. Sadly, my first 8-track was Abba Voulez-Vous. Dont judge me!!!

My house was built in '62, when we moved in this intercom system didn't work. Tube amp and tube radio, I fixed 'em both. The lower left is a reel to reel tape player, the format before 8-track. The record player can play 78, 45, 33? and a rare speed 16? (not sure if the fractions will make it into my comment text)

The house I grew up in had an intercom system like that with a radio so you could play hear it in every room and the front door. Of course it was only AM radio but pretty advanced tech for the 50s.

It's a Nutone 2400 system. Finding the vacuum tubes it uses is no problem, but the other parts and components are almost impossible to find. 8 channels for the whole house. Some rooms share a channel. The original radio was AM/FM but the FM side is mono only. The record player was always stereo but only the living room and family room have a pair of speakers are n the wall, the other six channels are single speaker remotes. I think in '63 or '64 Nutone started selling a FM stereo receiver for my system, I found one on eBay about 3 years ago. I put it in and it worked for about a year before a capacitor fried, had to put the original mono receiver back in. The sound is really good, I like listening to 60's rock and baseball games on it. Takes me back to my childhood :-)
