My dad was in the Joint Pacific Fleet in WWII. He was on the HMAS Hobart. Before Pearl Harbour we had a smattering of Australian Kiwi & Dutch colonial squadrons and whatever was left of the Royal Navy that wasn't in the Atlantic or the Med. Your guys saved our asses & we've fought together ever since. Amy vet gets an upvote from me.

Just let him know he's got friends all over the world. Servicemen from the US are fighting for all of us. We know that. America cops a bit of flak from other westerners but it's all in fun. In the end we know that the small supportive efforts our Gifts can afford is a little bit of backup to the thousands of US servicemen who risk life & limb daily trying to keep some stability in these Hell holes. I know enough Australian vets to know about the shit that they go through stuff I can't even imagine and Dad suffered really badly from War Neurosis as they used to call PTSD back then. It's a big sacrifice & it's something the rest of us can never repay.

Thank you Peza for that. I will tell him. He too has severe ptsd and it seemed to get worse when he recently had to retire. He was very disappointed to not finish his career. It's hard too as he works a government job and we live on base where active duty live. He feels a lot of guilt about living when others died. He was deployed to Russia, Iraq and Afghanistan and was gone 7 of his years in with very little ways to make contact. Thank you for being so sensitive and understanding. I wish more people did.
