Not disagreeing there, but there is a difference between petitioning a tv network and going into a full blown riot like in Berkly when Milo was there.

It's one thing to be publicly ostracized or shunned because what you have to say is abhorrent to the vast majority of rational people (David Duke, Fred Phelps, Jeremiah Wright, etc.). That's how people who spew filth are *supposed* to be dealt with, ridiculed, marginalized, and ultimately ignored.

It's quite another when your opinion, no matter how much out in the weeds it may be, starts becoming *criminalized*. "Free" speech is just that, free. Liberty is about taking the good with the bad, because having the good is far and away more important that not having the bad. And because One man's 'hate speech' or 'seditious rhetoric' will *always* be another man's righteous activism.

In a world where "wrong-thinking" is punishable, and "right-thinking" is rewarded, who will be the one to decide which is which? Because that is the person you should most fear.

Orwell is a hero of mine. The Left has studied Newspeak. Limiting language and using "politically correct" terms (propaganda lies) is a crime against thought and freedom.

Consequences, yes. Banned or illegal, no. People that call for speech codes are fascist, but people are allowed to respond with their own free speech when they hear things they disagree with. (Shouting fire in a crowded room or injurious slander, etc. are natural exceptions).
