We could flatten places with conventional bombs and that's a deterrent for any other country from starting a war with us. I think we should maybe just have maybe 5 nukes... or less. If someone started something, we should not need thousands of bombs. If it ever came to that, the time for land and water to be safe would be long after many life forms are extinct. Maybe I'm exaggerating the impact of these things, but I saw a documentary on Chernobyl, and that place is not useable for a couple hundred thousand years. The Russian leader said, there's no reason to cause such devastation on purpose. He said, look at the damage, all from an accident.
I guess I should be happy that even if there's a bunch of bombs, praise God nobody is using them :-)

I think I saw the same documentary. Although what I'd be a little more worried about is the upkeep of all of these nuclear power generators. Because I think I've heard of a problem or two happening with them out here, and remember what happened to and in Japan. :)
But yes I think we are all very happy no one is using them. :)

As far as power plants... Japan really took a hit from the tsunami. Incredible.
Back when I was in high school, Three Mile Island nuclear plant was in trouble. It's probably only an hour and a half from here. It was spooky!

It's all very scary to me, and as with the nuclear power plants, we the people have very little control. Due to the system being based on profit and the almighty dollar. :)
Just let me say this, with all of the smart parking and utility meters being used now, along with cell phone and other kinds of antennas. We're all being exposed to radiation everyday. But I'm sure you knew that already. :)
