If police in Canada are like those here in the States, they'll enforce it for their convenience. It's the right idea, but unenforced, Here, they look for seatbelts that aren't buckled. There are some people that are exempt from that because of health issues. I wasn't allowed to wear one for 6 months after my open heart surgery, for example. Shame, as I started wearing them in the days of polyester pants and bench seats. It kept my butt from sliding all over the seat when I went around a corner. Surprised that the local law enforcement up there isn't pursuing it as a way to generate revenue.
