I respectfully disagree. I still stand by my original point that some memes do not deserve an up vote, but do deserve a comment. And believe me, some of my comments will result in my memes being downvoted retro-actively.

Mean spirited memes are one thing. If it's a meme that's essentially trolling I have no problem with that.

So you agree that not all memes deserve an upvote, but may merit a comment? Believe me I love humor and if you go through my submitted memes, none of them are political or mean spirited. But I was raised not to let blatant falsehoods to go unchecked.

If it's a meme you like, and you comment on it, the poster deserves an upvote. If the poster is being an ass, they deserve no upvote.

Posting after 10 p.m. EDT can be a killer, custom memes in the middle of the day don't seem to be as detrimental as they used to be.

Being on the weekly leaderboard certainly has advantages as far as visibility goes. Memes have to be seen to get upvotes.

I generally post mid morning to early afternoon, depending on my work load, etc. I share to reddit, tumbler and all that, but I am almost always sub 100 views.

I post generally around 3:00-4:00 PM Eastern time, and sometimes if I'm up early enough, 6-7 am.

Those aren't bad times to post. A lot of folks are on then. Sometimes it's just hard to get noticed. Moshii did a meme with one of my ghostofchurch templates and got barely 5 upvotes I think. I changed like two words (which didn't change the heart of the meme, and got 30+ upvotes).

I benefit a lot from being on the leaderboard, it's a shame that particular instance was such an example of that. I wish there was a better way to spread the wealth, but I honestly can't think of a fair way to do so (well, one way comes to mind, but it bypasses the mods and would open a whole different can of worms).

Exactly, and those folks don't get replies to give them comment chains which lead to points, especially when they don't even upvote your comments in your replies to them.

Unless it's a bait meme (trolling) you should upvote the meme if you're going to reply. I save my efforts for those deserve it. Forgetting (like I'm prone to do) is one thing, but when it's a consistent pattern, no comment for you!)
