Since I worked nights so much of my life, my kids learned early on to let Daddy' sleep. Before they learned, though...
When The Noodle was a baby, she slept in the same room as Mommy and me. It didn't matter what time I went to bed, she'd be sitting up, hands on the rail of her crib, feet sticking between the bars, and her face peeking out at me. "Daddin. Daddin Daddin..." She wouldn't stop until I went over and picked her up. I don't know how she acted when I had to leave town for a few days because of a funeral. I got back in the wee hours of the morning, headed to bed, and, like she never missed a day, head hit pillow and "Daddin, Daddin, Daddin"
She's still that loving after 38 years.
