People confuse gender with biological sex. Gender dosen't exist and yet is infinate, and there are 3 sexes. Male Female and Intersex.

So if your assigned a Gender at birth based on weather you have certain genitalia or not but you have differing chromosomes, then you'll have body dysphoria where you have a Gender you identify with but your body dosen't carry that.

You said it yourself, gender is a man made concept. Thus it is not based on any natural phenomenon, merely an artificial concept.

To concieve of two gender identities makes sense given that there are two sexual identities that they can be assigned to.

What outfits and accoutrements and face paint people choose to wear is what they choose to wear. But underwear is not going to change the fact that whatever genitalia you got down there, you got down there.
Should there be any confusion as to which because of developmental irregularities, then a simple DNA test will clarify if you is a female or if you is a male,,,

Because they're not actually changing their gender. They're going inf**kingsane. Legit it's a mental disorder, y'know, believing you're a gender that you're not. If you don't like traps in anime you like them a whole lot less in real life.
