TBH, I don't think I will or ever will like Castro. According to Wikipedia, he was a nationalist, and a Marxist socialist, not a democratic socialist.
Democratic socialists merely believe in controlling the big businesses, not every person in America, hence the poor and unfortunate. They also don't believe in murder (which is what Castro did), and it is more likely to find a left-winger killed for their political beliefs more than a right-winger killed in America.

I know Castro was brutal alright, though. He was a dictator, like Putin, Stalin, Hitler; none of those 3 have a strong reputation for doing good things... or did any good things.
I don't really listen/watch/read the news, so I haven't heard anything about him from the liberal press, Trudeau, or Obama. I get my news from IMGflip, basically.
Either way, I think we should give Cuba freedom, but I don't think Castro's way of leading Cuba was the right way to go about it.

Uh, not correct. Any socialism type ends up being enforced by the strong arm of government; either through the barrel of a gun or threatened penalties for avoiding the increased taxation. Eventually the majority tires of paying for the minority, then they quit supplying and the whole pyramid collapses. Also, judging from the reaction of the left over a fair election vs. the reaction of the right in the same situation, who do you think will be putting up camps? The right has far more ability to kill lefties, yet they don't.

To be fair, I haven't seen the government bear arms to threaten. On the other hand, I've seen more acts of violence from the so-called "alt-right" (key word: "right") who enforce their pride to hurt blacks, gays, jews, etc.
If the Right doesn't kill Lefties, than how was John Lennon killed?
