Keeping American going

Sitting in a comfortable chair in the AC typing on a keyboard? Must be a hard life.

At my job I was getting pretty beaten up with arthritis, etc at 60. My wife will work longer because it's not physical work.

in this country the retirement keeps going up and up. we've got older people who are either having to leave their physical jobs or are being let go from companies and basically unable to get new employment because no one really wants to hire somebody 55+. so these people are having to go on government handouts and forced to meet the same activity requirements as the young kids. it's pretty shameful

YES. I re-read the original meme & see that point. I've thought it is truly awful & my 35 year old son reminds me of it. & I am willing for my SS benefits to decrease if necessary. I seriously hate it when I see so many people 45+ looking for jobs. Darryl Issa wanted to put me in the same position at 56 by forcing me to retire with a tiny pension. And I was close to disability a year ago, but made it to 60 for full retirement. And I know guys who didn't...almost feel ashamed I made it.
