She definitely deserves to be called out on it, but for the first day or two afterwards, all I saw on social media was liberals talking like this was the smoking gun that would sink Trump's campaign. Turns out, this exposed a number of plagiarists.

Well, your first mistake was taking anything on social media seriously. Your second was assuming that a few posts on Facebook accurately represent the point of view of all liberals. Not meaning to be preachy, but as a lifelong unabashed liberal, I get a little tired of being lumped in with people I find just as silly and annoying as most conservatives do.
