World peace maybe, but peace at home has been very doable until the last 10 years or so. As a nation we became so divided over the middle east that no one saw the total breakdown of communications that followed. There was a time when large numbers crossed the aisle to do things for the country instead of hunkering down and refusing to do anything. People could actually talk politics with the opposition in a face to face setting without it coming to blows. How can we expect our representatives to agree on anything when we as a people cannot or at the very least are not willing to listen to both sides.
