It's called the Pike Place Gum Wall, it should be close to the Public Market from what I remember. It's pretty much an alleyway where people go to spit their gum out.

We didn't go, but we did get back from Canda, and they where celebrating Canada Day, too bad we have to head back to Seattle today. We head home tomorrow (July 2nd)!

A little farther south here in Portland it allows us to sit out in the sun on bar patios drinking beer for longer. Seriously. It's about all we do. Well we work, but that's to pay for beer.

Beer is what makes Portland drunk. But yes: most breweries inside the city limits than any city in the world. You really have to work at it to get a bad beer in a bar here. And most patios at brewpubs have lights on the patios so you can drink outside after sunset. :)

Chill and alcoholic. Not horribly expensive except for housing - see below - not San Francisco levels but not easy. But if you have to live out in the streets it's pretty cheap to drink yourself to death.

Come in the winter. The sun staying out til 10pm is the only way we ever get to see it.. Otherwise we have to be at work to afford rent.

Portlander? You just need to know how to w**re yourself out to get the best sofas. No - just kidding - I've been grandfathered in as a native. Generally I've found having family in the same city helps. Mostly I just keep to myself and then when no one is watching I sneak out and drink all the beer.
