Sales tax isn't federal tax. Sales taxes go only to the state and local governments. Much of the costs of healthcare among other services is federally subsidized where federal tax monies are returned to the state. Illegals working off the grid sap way more than what they add to the system with a sales tax. There are other issues as well that the consumer pays for every day, not the least of which is companies having to print bilingual materials and pay bilingual employees extra. Auto insurance is higher in border states due to the higher number of uninsured drivers. Living in a border state I could keep going but I think this is enough to digest in one comment. One last note though, I am not advocating deporting all, but we do need to stop the flow and then work on what to do with the ones that are here.

We pay our local masters who pay up the ladder. And every other "argument" you made could be handled by loosening government involvement. Our inefficient system isn't working. Living in a border state, I see a lot of illegals that work hard to feed their families, and risk breaking the law because what they're running from is worse than the consequences of getting caught here.

If you want the services, you have to "pay up the ladder", also no one gives you anything for free, even the government. If you want them to have less control than you have to not rely on their money, their roads, their school subsidies, their health and food subsidies. Its wishful thinking that America can continue to have a porous border and still be able to provide all it provides to citizens AND to immigrants. If you cannot agree that the flow has to be stopped then there is no point to continuing the conversation.

It has to be gradual- cut down on welfare state spending, while increasing ease of coming to Anerica.

So again, what programs do you support cutting and to who, to make funds available for people that come here. What you say sounds nice, but even if we cut those programs, should we not be looking to take care of the homeless issue, see to it that no vet waits 6 months or longer for a Dr.'s appointment and rebuild the crumbling infrastructure that EVERYONE relies on as well as paying off the 19trillion dollar debt.

If they are using the highways, any assistance from migrant outreach, etc. Then they are draining the system. There is no entitlement despite what this current admin or La Razza claim. As far as state taxes, some pay, some get back more. South Carolina receives7.87 dollars for every one dollar in tax paid. Ya that sucks, but that also means illegals are benefitting from 6.87 that I paid for.

When someone claims that illegals don't pay taxes, it is really the issue. And you saying "have to steal" is extremely silly. Not every illegal has a stolen SSN. In fact, an extremely small percentage have stolen an identity.

You can't pay taxes without a legal residents or green card (not including SS). If you are, and not legal, then you're using a bought number. No illegal is writing in taxes every April from under the table funds.

You still don't get it. I'm not going yorvture you on the differences of state local and federal taxes and what they do. The only reason they even have a "tax burden"is if the state has a tax system. Oregon has no income tax. Do. They would not be laying taxes there. Washington has a sales tax, but no state income. So with purchases. Yes, they technically pay a tax to the state. However, they are still remiss in their federal taxes and therefore are still dodging their burden.

In order to support a family, you either have to work or get public assistance, an SSN is required for either. To claim it is uncommon is intellectualy dishonest. While the identity theft may not be malicious in intent, it can still cause havoc for the victim as they have to defend themselves from the IRS. Even if you eventually get the IRS to acknowledge that your identity was stolen, it has cost you thousands in legal fees

Funny how I've been called out by some for views that I don't even hold, while only a couple of people made a sensible argument- some states don't have sales tax. True, but there are many more taxes we pay as part of our purchases that aren't sales tax. When businesses are taxed, they normally don't pay it, they pass the cost to the consumer.

Crammed away in run down houses are stores that serve the illegals with Mexican products. They often do not register the business for state & federal taxes.

Plus, the states of Alaska, Delaware, Montana, New Hampshire and Oregon do not have general sales taxes.
