Parsec is a unit of distance. I can go from here to the store in under 12 parsec. Or I can could go 11.5 parsecs and still be under 12

i believe that's close, but not in a linear fashion: its a spherical measurement of 'volume', not distance (a sphere with a radius of one lightyear, so ~3.(something) cubic lightyears)... so for han to pull this off he would need a 'Lint' drive spaceballs to travel at the speed-of-thought so he could occupy every conceivable point within 12x3.5 cubic lightyears simultaneusly

oh, ps. our solar system is 1 lightyear from it's center (the sun) to it's outer edge (the ort cloud): the 'Sol System' is 1 parsec in size

Time. Distance. Both are measurements. Both are relevant to the potential equation. Perhaps you will re-examine how I presented the facts in order to realize I did not misrepresent them.

The quote is erroneous. It is certainly BOTH a unit of time and distance. Although popular use is for measuring distance, elapsed TIME is part of the calculation. Keep thinking inside that box. It must be nice and cozy.
