Did you see the HBO special "Atari: Game Over"...they're playing it this month again...it tells about the rise and fall of Atari and they actually located the burial site and recovered most of the stuff that was buried there...very interesting show.
Probably regarded as the worst video games to have ever existed as well! Thank god, Nintendo was there to save industry from the certain disaster. If you want to read about it here's a good article: http://www.ign.com/articles/2011/09/21/ten-facts-about-the-great-video-game-crash-of-83 and http://www.ign.com/articles/2011/09/21/ten-facts-about-the-great-video-game-crash-of-83?page=2
I like the points because it gives you some kind of feedback that people like what you're posting. And it also can be fun to set yourself challenges and see your points increase.
But the points aren't worth much more than that.

I like the point system because I'm a competitive person and I like to challenge myself by getting as much as possible...for myself.
It's too bad they don't have any add-ons to the site that we could "spend" our points on...like an avatar or maybe even buy freaky new fonts and font colors or something like that.
I use to hang out at Pogo.com a long time ago...at that site you earned points for playing the games and you could use those points to buy stupid shit to "pretty" up your profile page...but you had to pay to hang out there.
I wasn't trying to contradict what you were saying in your meme with what I wrote. I think it's a good message. Hopefully, if there are people on the site stressing out about points, they'll learn to relax and have fun a bit more. :)
