Yeah. Except that voting is literally the core of democracy.

But we are supposed to be a Republic. I'm not saying none should be able to vote. Just that being a citizen shouldn't give you that right.

Republic = a state in which supreme power is held by the people and their elected representatives. By definition, a Republic is a system where all people (citizens) are allowed to have a say (vote) in the running of the State.

The people can have a say. A head of household votes and they decide for their entire house on a decision. Decisions like president. Not whether gay marriage should be allowed and forced on ministers. Or force a bakery to cater a homosexual wedding. If two gay people want to get married have at it. I don't care, but don't force me to bake them a cake, because they want to spite me. This is just an example. I want Govt. to gtfo of marriage among other things. They have much more power that they should have.

1) Having a giant caucus-like system isn't representative of the wishes of all the people in that household.
2) Gay marriage isn't being forced on ministers. They are not getting married. The beliefs of the ministers are being forced on homosexuals, because they are the ones who are not being allowed to follow their wishes.
3) Maybe they don't want a wedding cake to spite you, they just want to have a real wedding?
4) I don't intend to start a debate on marriage. You stated your opinion, I stated mine.

In the U.S.' first days it was only property owners who could vote. Even women, albeit very few did own land.

Voting - is a right, but you can lose that (example - being a convicted felon).

Everything else in the list is earned - slight distinction from privilege, which implies that it's given to you.

Ok, That's what I meant. But now you have people who are flipping burgers who are demanding to be paid a living wage. of $15 per/hr. That's not right. We have politicians saying free higher ed for everyone. That's gonna lower the expectations for all because you have to make the course work easier. The housing bubble and crash was because the govt. was trying to manipulate the market so everyone could get a house. Our govt. is making everything a "right" and we have become a handout society. There are highschoolers who only aspire to be on welfare. That is wrong. I love your user name btw.
