The comments section is really getting annoying and needs to be addressed, but the mods won't answer my inquiries.

I understand they have too to stop spam but it is way too long at the moment it should be more like 20 or 30 seconds

My only real complaint is when I type a comment and I want to type another comment ten seconds later and have to wait 165 seconds. I believe it can be fixed or tweaked.

At least we should be able to reply on our own memes at will. Other users there isn't nearly as often the need to do multiples.

That's a good point. About fewer time restrictions (or maybe none at all) when it's your own meme. It's hard to defend your point of view or answer comments when there's 4 people commenting and you have to wait as long as each one of them.

The trouble is that some people would no doubt comment-bomb their own memes to try to get them higher-rated.

Right, like you can reply unlimited times but you can only comment a certain number in a certain time period. That makes sense.

I almost understand time restrictions on a thread that is not your own,... it keeps the trolls down,... from immediately being an ass to every comment on a meme they don't like. It's possible that the number of comments on a meme is one of the factors involved in deciding its relative position in the Hot stream.

I have one occasionally, I try not to do it too often as it usually takes me 3-4 weeks to recover.

And people wonder why I don'the reply to everyone...I usually come home to 30+ comments to reply to...that takes forever.

What gets to me is when you're trying to meme comment - you upload, create and submit and THEN it tells you that you have to wait a bit and then you have to start all over! If only it would hold it there and you could submit in a few minutes without having to start over!
