That's really what it's all about.

So page 6 after only 3 hours and 46 minutes. With the average of 30 memes featured every hour, like I have stated all along, had this been featured at 7 am, it would have been on the first or second page. So this has shown 1 of 2 things. First off for some reason that I am not going to name, your original meme got featured faster than any of mine have. Second it shows that when imgflip holds it for as long as they do, it appears that the meme gets placed in line as to where it should be featured at the first moment it should be featured (which in this case should have been 7am). With it having to wait 3 hours for whatever reason, around 90 other memes became featured, moving the position in which your meme was suppose to be featured at to now page 6. Now I know as a top user this doesn't bother you because you have your loyal subjects following your every move to upvote everything you have whether it is good or not. However if you did not have your top user status and all these people following you, could you see the frustration someone would experience when their memes get put into the blackhole of imgflip by getting featured so far down the line on the latest tab?

The thing is...the weatherman meme that made the front page got held for 15 hours as well as my last bad pun dog meme...one did well, one didn't...why this one featured faster, I couldn't say...as to why it started out on page six vs. Higher or lower...I don't know, but even you gotta admit...Page six is still NOT page 1...I plan to submit another one this afternoon. I'll let you know when I do...we'll see if it makes any difference...in my experience, sometimes user templates feature faster in the evenings...I'm curious to see if that alters anything at all. I can't help it if my "popularity" gives me an unfair advantage...but I earned that fair and square.... but I am curious, if this site is so crooked and it treats you so unfairly why do you keep coming back?

Why do I keep coming back? Because I like to make memes, and you should be able to admit that I am good at it. Let me ask you this, why can someone not express a problem with the site without being attacked or having people redefine what they think the problem is no matter how many times they have been corrected? Why can't you admit that this problem does exist and that it should be fixed?

I dont get what you're saying here. When I was having my morning coffee at 7-7:30ish cst. Your memes were all 3 on page 1of latest.....then as more memes are submmitted they move down, as they move down if they should get upvotes then they move to the hottest stream page 10 or so, and provided the upvotes keep commung in, then they start moving UP from there to hopefully a succesful front page of hot.

Of course you don't understand. Those are not original memes, so of course they are going to start in the first couple pages. But what you fail to realize is that being on the first couple pages generated more traffic in just a couple hours than what some of my original memes have done in a couple weeks after starting on page 9 and later. They never saw pages 1-8, which means they were given a disadvantage to start off with. Do you still not understand that being on the first couple pages of the latest tab actually helps drive traffic to your memes?

Okay, so far so good. Whats say tommorro a bunch of us submit an original meme at a designated time and see how it goes, see how long and where it features. Cuz I know Ive had them take hours to feature and low views but also had them feature quick and get lucky. If everybody just bes cool we can put this to rest. And I know if we gonna put a xmas list together for the mods, some users want other stuff like seperating our comment memes from our submitted memes, bring back the up/down vote bar, a section for top rated memes or something like that, and some want private messeging. The list is long youre not the only one who has queiries. Just tryin to chill everything down to a mature responsible solution.

Let me make this as simple as possible. A few months ago it would take a few hours for origibal memes to get featured, and sometimes even common template memes, but they still all started on the first couple pages when they got featured. That is not taking place today. So regardless if a group of us did this, it is already proven that there is an issue that should be resolved. So let me ask you this, even if we were to do what you suggest and some start on the first couple pages, some start around 5/6, and the rest start at 9 and after, what would that prove?

If anyone looks back at my memes,.. they will see I used a "generic 6",... a handful of old templates for about a year... ha ha!!! I never created a meme,... or even uploaded a meme pic for a comment,.. until this year. =) There was not anyone on the imgflip worse or more inept at creating than me. I never knew when I was a beginner which pages my memes featured,.. or began. To this day,.. I still don't know! ha ha! It hasn't effected me in one year! (today is my 1 year anniversary with IMGflip). Don't let bother you... just have fun,... worrying about where a meme starts and ends,.. or points,.. or icons,... is not fun. And the way I see it,... points here in imgflip won't even get you a free slice of pizza! Making a meme is fun,... but I think for many,... if not most,... it's the hilarious comment threads that follow. Flaming,... at any level,.. or even deviating from the purpose of the site,... is not fun. Just have fun! IMGflip admins do what they do for a reason,... knowing they will never make everyone happy,... so they have a standard that is the same for everyone. Just go with it. Ever been in the military? Adapt,.. improvise,... find your niche,... and be a good user! No one on this site that is an asshat does well... NO ONE. Not calling you one,... just reminding you that positive, polite, respectful users,.. do better than those that want to change the rules or buck the system. Everyone on the top 100 users list started with the same icon,... same limitations.. and grew with the site. What makes a great user,... is not the icon,... not the leaderboard,... not the front page. Great users interact well with everyone else,.. and are as happy to see others succeed as they are themselves. Invicta's 1 year advice: "drop this junk ... and be a user that people want to see comments from!" That's what makes popularity,.. not complaining.

I dunno. Just spit ballin here. As far as I can tell everything starts on page one n two, depending on traffic n sh!t every day is different, I just wanna try something so we can put this whole issue to bed. And we can see iff raydogs or anyone elses popularity does infact make a difference as you say, we can even do an anonymous one as well and see if that makes a difference. Cuz so far youre the only one that has an issue with this.

I can already tell you his popularity does effect things to a degree.

The only thing I have left to say to you regarding this, I would but if other people fully realized this was taking place instead of just wondering why their original memes are not doing that well, they would have an issue with it as well. I might be the only one who has spoken out about it because I am not afraid to speak my mind, and Inam sure others see how people go after me for it and don't want to experience the same thing so they are afraid to say anything.

No what is annoying is when people attack someone for exposing a problem with the site. I use to be able to enjoy this site until 1 user started attacking me for making a suggestion in a meme. After that, he started convincing others to come after me, and it just kept getting worse from there. I should be allowed to enjoy this site like everyone else and even be able to say what is on my mind (like problems with the site) without getting attacked. People feel the need to be so politically correct today that it makes it impossible for someone to freely express their opinion without being in fear. It is sad and pathetic.

After the first flame war with Tetsuoswrath, I tried to end it by deleting that meme. Because I thought people should still be allowed to see my suggestion and give me their feedback on it, I resubmitted the meme. He was the first one to comment on it and start it all over again. So I deleted that one and tried again. Guess what, he came back. Finally after telling him I would keep deleting and resubmitting until he stopped commenting on them and did it for a forth time, he stopped, or at least there anyways. But by then the damage was already done. So it is time you stop blaming me because all of this started because of 1 person, Tetsuoswrath.

I have not been blaming anyone else. You clearly have a problem when it comes to reading. And how many times have I stated that I have contacted them? Multiple times. I also said it doesn't do any good to only have one person contact them and that if more people were willing to speak out on this then maybe something would get done.

I really think u may have a point. Its really weird the way memes get popularized. I dont try to get popular, but its strange that it doesnt even seem like just anyone can get any following at all. Ive tried to point out that the mods work in weird ways and all I get are trolls and people yelling at me that either my memes arent good or its not a popularity contest. Thats why Im not near as active as before. The community has gotten way more cliqueish, conservative, snobby, trollish, and rude since when I joined.

I don't get how they don't see that this has turned into a popularity contest. They literally say to "play the game", which is to create a following and become known (or popular) to have your content even seen. Where is the fun in that? It use to be that all you needed was a creative/funny meme to get recognized, where now if you have to have a lot more. How soon before it becomes worse and you get limited submissions based on how many likes your memes had the previous day?

I was only trying to get the info out about what is going on with original memes in hopes that other people would join me in contacting the admins to do something about it.
