Meme comedy is always the best path about politics, but what's funny-sad is the one with the least truth (the "pet goat" one with W) will probably get the most upvotes, while this one, the truest (there was no love lost between Nancy Reagan and Bush family) will get squat.
Hypothesis: truth is not considered funny by the masses in political memes
Agreed, in the meme world and comedy its about parody, much in the way that G.H.W. Bush never said "wouldn't be prudent." but Carvey did such a great parody that it became associated with him forever. There is generally more sadness than humor in truth, which I believe is why parody exists.
You're always a gentlemen,... who by the way does take the high road. And you are right in my humble opinion... the truth is often so sad,.. the parodies and humor help us deal with it. Great comment brother,..
Ok. I agree that Obamas foreign policy is nowhere near where it has to be in the current state of the world. But Reagan and Obama are up against wholly different animals. Gorbachev was taciturn polite and smart. Putin, frankly, is a completely deranged sociopath. Obama isn't great at FP, but a great leader like Reagan and a sane opponent shouldn't be compared to a mediocre one like Obama and the second coming of Hitler. And of course Reagan was one of the best at FP so the odds were against Obama from the start.
No I didn't mean Obama. He does need a more of a spine but when the opponent is as volatile as Putin is then some of his resources might not work. He might fear that if Putin sweats then he'll flip out like a cornered animal
Maybe. But Obama needs to make it clear that the USA is a tough country that, if messed with, can (and will, if necessary) kick any other country's butt.
Just because the eagle is looking at its olive branch doesn't mean it's not carrying a bundle of arrows.
IMHO...ussr during Gorbachev period is not really that strong compare to nowadays russia. Maybe in his view, russia does not possess and able to project major threat to US compare to north korea and china
Threats are always emerging,.. and much more sophisticated now that we dont see,.. like cyberwar etc. Russia sells sophisticated weapons to peeps dont like the USA much. Its all relative,.. it seems anyway. Good comment!
3 ups, 3y,
Great image, Ron's finger point and the way you made Obama sound like Marty McFly's dad! Now there is a meme idea for someone that is good with photoshop!
And Bush killed Hussein. Deal with it.
(Making personal attacks shows that you know you can't defend your argument very well, and thus you feel the need to discredit your opponent.)
BTW, thank you for calling me a genius. ;)
He was their commander in chief and was in charge of the war room when the trigger was pulled. Hussein was hanged by Iraqi Militia/Military mob. You know it. I know it everyone knows it. Demanding evidence for something you already know is a hallmark of the childish arguments often found on this site. You fit in well.
Well, I guess you can't fix stupid.
Obama said the marines could kill Bin Laden. He basically gave Bin Laden to them to be killed. Bush gave the Iraqis Hussein to be killed. It's basically the same thing, only one guy was killed by Americans, and the other guy was killed by Iraqis. I don't see why this is too hard for you to understand.
Obama, as commander in chief, ordered the military to carry out the mission. He didn't 'give' bin Laden to any body. Bush was not at the helm when Iraqi citizens dimed out Hussein then got him back to hang him. I love it when people like you pretend not to understand when you're argument is shown to be thin.
I still disagree with you, but hey, that's what's great about America. You don't have to hold to one way of thinking.
Since neither of us will budge on his (yes, his; correct grammar) position, I'll just stop arguing. Have a nice day. :)
