That reminds me, about 2 years ago when I was going into 7th Grade, the district placed me into the lowest “tier” ELA class despite my continuous high ELA grades throughout my education.
I’m eternally convinced the reason for this is because I have something called communication disorder, and the district assumed that I was mentally disabled because of it.
Fortunately, the teacher of that class recognized that I was, in fact, a very, very high skill level above the ELA class I was currently in. I’ve been moved up and I’m now in the Advanced ELA course going into my freshman year of high school.
