If you're banned from a stream it's because you didn't follow TOS, NOT because we didn't like what you said.

I'm banned from P2 but I don't cry about it, I violated TOS, I'll take my medicine like a big boy. You banned me from your political templates stream (or whatever the hell it's actually called) and I couldn't care less but you did it because you didn't like what I had to say, not because of a violation. Hypocrite.

I can't vouch for what other mods do on the same stream where I'm a mod. Most of that happened before I became a mod there. That ship has sailed.

I was harassing you on your own stream. You used the tool that you had to stop that. Check and mate. Great when you do it to others, sucks when it happens to you. Take your own advice and be gracious.

I have no idea WTF you're ranting about. When I say that I can't vouch for other mods it means exactly what it says - I have no idea why they banned certain users BEFORE I got there. What part don't you understand? Those are all easily understandable words.

So, I'll await your saved screen shots of my shit. I'd appreciate seeing your green cotton clit. Why do you put cotton on it? Why is it green? Is it infected? They did tell us to stay away from anything that wasn't pink when I went through Marine Corps boot camp.

Read my previous post again - I wasn't attacking you for banning me on your stream - I was outlining that it's just the way that shit is in this world, it's the facts of life.

Maybe your tablet wouldn't have so many problems if you weren't saving so many screenshots of people's memes and comments? That's just weird and creepy.

That's nice and all, if you would read the last paragraph that I wrote under the Fantasy Island pick you might realize that I'm advocating for the removal of the bans, but whatever, some men you just can't reach, so we get this.

As for the flags, again, and please read this slowly, I use the tools that the site gives me. I throw more flags than the officials at a Broncos' game. It's the nature of the beast.

I’ve talked with some of the mods at conservatives who I thought were a little too banhappy, and so far, they’ve stopped with the reliance on infinite timers. Conservatives is for conservatives first and foremost, but I’m not interested in creating an echo chamber like Real Politics did, hence why leftists can post there as long as they’re reasonably respectful, because sometimes we do get things wrong and I want debate to flourish so that either our beliefs can stand up to the challenge or they can be disproven and we can change our minds. My experience with politicsTOO was similar, they usually allow me to disagree respectfully as long as I don’t tick off the wrong people, only exception was when the Politifake crew banned Community Mods from there until Sloth eventually unbanned a bunch of people. As for Real Politics, I don’t think I’ve ever even posted or commented there, but IncognitoGuy got triggered one day and permabanned me and Andrew. Not that I really care too much, I have no interest in propping up that echo chamber, but still not a good look when you’re trying to say the leftists are crybabies who need their safe space then ban everybody who even has the most minor disagreement with them.

TLDR

But, my last two cents on Real_Politics - your view on "infinite timers" and bans is spot on - I brought up to the other mods there that they get away from the "infinite timers" and bans on that stream.

From my own experience, a two day timer pisses me off more than being permanently banned, but maybe that's just me.

While the deletions in Conservatives seemed a tad biased and maybe overly sensitive, they did make sense in terms of the stream's rules. Surely more fair and logical than what I've witnessed from some of the other streams.

I got a timer yesterday from Poli for posting a screenshot of someone's profile who was mocking someone with ye olde "the left can't meme." He's made 15 memes in 3 months, and that's including meme comments. I got a timer for posting actual fact, his insult aimed at the OP and a large swath of memers is still there.

This was the regular Politics stream, mind you. His bogus insult stays, his hypocritical truth is gone. At least Conservatives is, by intent, design, and mission statement, biased in favor of its namesake. Regular Poli is supposedly not supposed to be so weighted. So given its stated conditions, I'd say Conservatives is far more fair. I may not like the deletions, but they make sense.
- Except for the perma-ban one, I should have checked to see if they had added a new mod then, because not only were the 2 deletions a bit surprising, they BOTH came with the whole stream rules thing about posting printed in my notifs plus some add'l rant or whatev (I didn't read the whole thing, so...) That was the only time I got that from that stream. They did give me 48 the other day but minus the overboard wrapping.

Views rarely, if ever, change during discussions or anything, for that matter. It's a basic psychological fact that arguments convince no one but...... the believers (confirmation bias). Otherwise they don't persuade dissenters.

As long as they're framed as "either" and "our" and "beliefs" no one will change their minds, nor will they strengthen anyone else's, as points are reduced to mere high fiving with extra padding simply for aesthetic purposes.

Beliefs tend to be built on flimsy latticework anyways. That's why people get so aggravated about them. They know how fragile they are and how much of their ego's well being they have invested in them.

It might prove preferable to bypass them (as they basically function as mere middlemen) and sticking to simple facts - facts, by nature, being the real root of truths.
