honestly it's pretty interesting when you think about it, I live in Portugal but I can communicate with people in U.S instantly. Back then, you couldn't do that at all! We tend to think of history going as fast in the blink of an eye, but in all actuality, history was REALLY FREAKING LONG

yeah. when the roman empire fell, most people, if not ALL people, weren't even alive to see rome convert to christianity, even though we associate the two events

humans originated with pale skin, but as time went on as they all migrated to certain areas, some who went to european areas stayed paler, others who stayed in african and middle eastern areas got darker to protect their skin from the UV rays of the sun. that's why black and brown people are harder to burn in the sun
