My cousin actually died of covid. He was barely out of his 30s, healthy, no underlying conditions, got sick and was on a respirator within a few days. Dumbasses trying to downplay this thing should really be ashamed.

She is probably a smoker and above 50 maybe with cancer, am I correct?

no she isn’t she is 43, never smokes and has no underlying diseases so no you aren’t correct

And they put her on a respirator? Well there's your death right there. See covid makes lacerations on your lungs and when you put compressed air into them it forces more blood into the lungs, and allows less air to get in. Thus they suffocate in their own fluid.

Maybe because people aren't doing all of the above...?

Then why is the flu going down? This is gonna go around in a circle blue.

The flu comes and goes every year with virtually the same prevention measures taken.... Until 2020 when people began social distancing, wearing masks and getting vaccinated more.

These preventative measures aren't quite as effective against Covid, which has only been here for 1 year. (With the possibile exception of the vaccine... However there haven't been nearly as many covid-19 vaccines administered as the flu)

The flu is a completely different strand every year; and it’s never the same strand. If it was, we would all be immune to it already since we all had the flu. So this doesn’t explain how the flu is going down while Covid isn’t. These are both viruses that we’ve never encountered before.

Nothing you said refutes what I said. Different strands of the flu come and go every year.. and never have they encountered more than half the country wearing masks.

"The flu is a totally different strand every year....These are both viruses that we’ve never encountered before"...

And yet somehow, if I get the flu this year, I will know exactly what to expect. It effects me more or less the same every time. Whereas if I got Covid, who knows.... I could have literally nothing happen or end up waiting in line for an ICU.

I can't believe I'm still trying to explain the difference between covid and the flu to y'all nearly a year into this.

Neither has COVID, yet it’s not going down. And don’t use the explanation that COVID is more contagious. If more than half the country was wearing masks and socially distancing, it would take something far more contagious then the flu for it to spread.

“And yet somehow, if I get the flu this year, I will know exactly what to expect. It effects me more or less the same every time. Whereas if I got Covid, who knows.... I could have literally nothing happen or end up waiting in line for an ICU.”
I was talking about how contagious it is. Not its symptoms. We’ve never encountered either one before, so we should be prone to both.

"And don’t use the explanation that COVID is more contagious...it would take something far more contagious then the flu for it to spread."

Lol oh you mean like.... Twice as contagious as the flu for example..? The R0 value of the flu for the general population is between 1-2.... the R0 value of covid is between 2-3.

"I was talking about how contagious it is. Not its symptoms."

Well... It's symptoms are also important in context of spreading the virus. Again covid is at least 2x as bad. If you get the flu it might be 1-4 days before you get flu symptoms.. so there isn't a lot of time there to unknowingly spread it to other people. And it is easier to trace back who you might've been in contact with to warm them so they don't spread it.. or to figure out who it came from............ Covid might be 2 weeks before you get symptoms so good luck trying to trace that back. The same goes for the time of unknowingly spreading covid.

Your "totally different strain" every year comment is yet 1 more possible factor ... Maybe this year's flu is less contagious than previous ones, idk.
