Many won't follow links (usually me included) thinking them click bait for views. Some even downvote them. But the gif or jpeg link will show the image, so that saves the hassle of leaving the thread as well. And you can post just that one or both if you want.
Good points, ImgFlip itself suggests that you share your memes with others in an effort to get them to the front page. (And in this case it was successful for me: imgflip.com/gif/3hvy29 ) but I could see why some folks wouldn’t want to follow random links.
I might do this going forward, but all those steps are a lot of hassle as well. Especially when I’m flipping on my phone, which is usually. I hope they click the link but don’t care that much if they don’t.
Thing is, it's usually best to ask permission first to post a link redirecting to another meme. There are some who spam memes with links that are totally unrelated, just seeking views, so people resent that.
I mean Stoya is a writer, and a Democrat, and a feminist, all things I am, so I have a natural affinity for her. Plus she is undeniably smoking hot.
Oh the link doesn’t directly support the proposition but I figured if I was going to use her image in a meme then I may as well cite her work and give her a platform too.
Felt like the feminist thing to do.
As for Dems doing it better... well, that’s just based on personal experience.
