The angel is at least as old as the tree and was a hand-me-down :-)

Older things are usually of better quality. My favorite part is the angel, but it is a beautiful tree.

Every year, my wife’s Grandmother gave her an angel for Christmas until she was married at which point it would be a tree topper angel.
When we got married, her Grandmother was very frail and gave my wife the angel from her own tree, as she would be unable to do her own tree. The angels ranged from hand made, to special ones from trips abroad. The idea was to have a tree of angels, which we did that first year. Now, the angels go on with all the rest of the decorations on a green tree, but by special permission I was allowed to also have the silver tree up this year.
The old wires have been removed from the angel.
With no kids of our own, my wife does the angels for all our nieces :-)
