You make a good point, since we can't see them and they are abused I agree with you. I do think they would lose their power if they just deleted alt accounts but since they can't seem to do that then getting rid of the downvote may be the best solution.
Without the ability to downvote, most trolls would lose interest here. And far fewer legit members would get frustrated and leave. We have to make the mods listen and take away downvoting once and for all!
Well, we made them listen on the comment timer. The idea of this weekend is to flood the site with memes asking them to do something about it and also flood then with emails
Thanks Jying. The two ways I usually contact imgflip are by using the imgflip feedback form imgflip.com/feedback or by sending an email to [email protected] I actually heard back once a few months ago, but that time was for a bug report I sent in.
I just write directly to Dylan he has replied to me a few times in the past. As long as I am polite and not just whining about stuff he will usually listen to what I have to say. I've had a few too many drinks in the past and wrote some stupid whiny crap before and can't say I blamed him for not replying lol.
Even though I usually don't hear back, I've seen results about some of the other feedback I've sent in. Both on some site enhancement suggestions and about problem users breaking the terms. I get the impression the mods do listen and sometimes they act on it to make things better on imgflip.
Thanks for asking. Sometimes some users abuse the downvote button. They follow specific imgflip users and downvote all their memes and comments. The imgflip users that are being downvoted have their memes go back to submitted status, so no one else can see them. We call those imgflip users that are habitually downvoting others imgflip users TROLLS.
I think the downvote is in imgflip's DNA and will never be removed, but I heard they have changed the amount of damage it can do. By the way, I just upvoted you past 1K points, you should be able to make meme comments now. Give it a try :)
Yes I did. I think I saw RayCat use the image here a couple months ago. Also, if you submit it as a meme, be sure to add captions and set the font size to zero in more options. Sometimes the mods won't feature stuff without captions.
