https://imgflip.com/i/awcois - for reference of the skin layers - hypodermis is the last skin layer since its the layer of fat directly above muscle - dermis is the layer above hypodermis and is the thickest layer - and epidermis is the top skin layer.
it is very easy to see what layer a wound is at for me - please ask me if you dont know how deep a cut - or any wound - is.

and yes my cuts look like that but not on my arms - the drawing is a wrist/hand just because i cant draw legs
