* They are being charged (by US) for the vetting, putting them $4000+ in the hole when they arrive. Other countries have taken to seizing any personal assets they may have, cash,jewelry, etc.

Surrounded,starved,unarmed, & bombed by all sides, leaving may be the only sane thing for a lot of people. Besides which, some are fleeing TO something/somebody. The US has overthrown the elected ,secular, Syrian government twice, paving the way for Assad. Our allies the Saudis & Qataris sent AQ-affiliated fighters into Syria to hijack the Syrian democracy protests & start something. (They offered to pay for the US to overthrow Assad , so they could get the pipeline they've wanted for 60+ years (What it's really all about.) . Hillary was down with it, but Obomber said no.) All the other mucking around provided the weapons. Considering that there is liely no end to that, even if this episode is settled, leaving just might look like the best option, especially if you're young, with your whole future in front of you. Btw, it's surprising how many speak English. Go to Humans of NY, to meet some of the REAL refugees, not the cartoon characters of memes & slippery politicians minds. ;)
