did you see where i said "it's cruel when done without anesthetic or medical necessity." i'm not disagreeing with you about routine infant circumcision. however if i'd left my boys to have it done of their own volition after they reached the age where they could make their own medical decisions, they'd have had multiple infections, pointless pain and could have permanent damage. they were done at 18 months and 2 years respectivly because i decided that the doctor was correct and that repeated infections were a worse option for them than keeping the foreskin that trapped urine every time they peed. and luckily i don't live in the states so hooray for us, we were allowed to fix it with a minimum of fuss and a short period of discomfort for them both. mummy was still sorry that their little peens were sore though.
