However, I find it remarkable that nobody holds this country accountable for having its entire economy built for free by chattel slaves. While your ancestors may have been disliked, they were free to move, and they were paid for the work they did. Nothing compares to the situation African Americans have been in, and the effects of slavery affects that community to this day. Anyway, I just wanted to throw this in there. I'm off to work now.

Explain this to millions of Germans, who are still paying reparations for something that lasted a few years (v several centuries)
